Precision Grinding Fluids

Rock Valley manufactures specialized grinding fluids for many industrial applications.  From straight oil based products, soluble oils, semi-synthetics to fully synthetic formulations, these products are designed to meet the needs of your application.  All of Rock Valley's grinding fluids have been developed to maximize tool life, reduce tool loading and enhance productivity.

Rock Valley's Tool Grinding fluids have been outstanding performers in twist drill and tap manufacturing for decades.  They offer an optimum balance between frictional heat removal, extreme-pressure properties and lubricity.

Development of improved phosphorus additive chemistry has reduced or eliminated the need for field, or tank-side, additive adjustments.

Available in several viscosity grades and with various additive blends, our Progrind 600 series products provide exceptional performance in flute grinding operations.

In a typical case, Progrind 600 has been used by a tap manufacturer without any tank-side additive treatment for more than three years.

Centerless Grinding, I.D., O.D. and Surface Grinding require cooling, controlled lubricity and tool cleanliness.  Rock Valley has many formulations, each with unique properties based upon application requirements.

Progrind 600X Light has proven itself in difficult high-volume production applications such as super-finish grinding of stainless steel.  Example:  a heavy-duty engine manufacturer reported dramatically improved tool life using Progrind 600X Light resulting in savings in excess of $100,000 annually.

Several automotive component manufacturers have achieved cost savings of up to 40% using Progrind 640 in O.D. grinding of critical parts.

Rock Valley manufactures specialized fluids such as the 550 series for Glass Grinding which have swarf settling or swarf floating characteristics depending upon machine type or manufacturing preference.  These fluids are industry specific products for optimum performance.
